Key Responsibilities: - Mentorship & Training: Lead, mentor, and train junior estimators, ensuring the team maintains high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Estimating: Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial interior projects, including materials, labor, and equipment. Review and analyze project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. Cultivate trust and collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Bid Coordination: Manage the bid process from start to finish, including soliciting and evaluating subcontractor bids, and ensuring all estimates are thorough and competitive.
- Project Management Support: Work closely with project managers to provide ongoing cost analysis and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, materials, and construction methods. Implement best practices in estimating and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
- Passion: Must be passionate about estimating and looking to help the firm grow!
- Client Communication: Professional presence suited for interacting with clients is a must.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial interiors General Contracting estimating in New York City.
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of estimators.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
