Job Title: Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
Job Summary: The Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing energy use within an organization. This role involves developing and implementing energy management strategies, conducting energy audits, and ensuring compliance with energy regulations. The CEM will work closely with various departments to promote energy efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities: - Energy Audits: Conduct detailed energy audits to identify energy-saving opportunities and recommend improvements.
- Energy Management: Develop and implement energy management plans and strategies to reduce energy consumption and costs.
- Project Management: Lead and manage energy-related projects, including retrofitting buildings and upgrading systems.
- Data Analysis: Analyze energy consumption data to track performance and identify trends.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal energy regulations and standards.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on energy performance and savings to senior management.
- Collaboration: Work with other departments, such as facilities management and engineering, to implement energy-saving measures.
- Training: Provide training and support to staff on energy management practices and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in energy management or a related field.
- Certification: Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in energy management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, and energy conservation measures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with LEED certification processes.
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems and technologies.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
